Application
Dies and spare parts for producing aluminum collapsible tubes and extruded cans for the food, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, and industrial sectors.
In the production of tubes, extrusion dies, together with the heads and relative valves, transform an aluminum slug into a tube, for example for ointment, in a single cold working operation. The stems with relative joints and elastic clamps transport the tubes to the subsequent stages of trimming, rolling, annealing, etc. In the production of cans, the extruded semi-finished product is further processed by drawing to bring it to the desired length and thickness. It then undergoes another cold working process to create the bulge on the bottom and the taper at the mouth. Unlike collapsible tubes, cans are not annealed, therefore the stresses and wear in the subsequent deformation stages are decidedly higher. For both tubes and cans, some equipment is made of tungsten carbide, while others are made of various high-speed or powder technological steels.
